A. Lighting control, as well as controls in general, are constantly evolving. Technologies are becoming increasingly open and pervasive. IoT, as well as Internet of Lighting, is getting more and more tangible – a vision is becoming reality. A focused aspect of this journey in 2021 will be wireless controls, heavily driven by Thread. On the DALI side, we see a great response of the market on D4i, the basis for IoT ready illumination.

 
Q. Why did you partner with zencontrol and what makes zencontrol and ZOOMLUX such good partners?

A. zencontrol is at the forefront of the mentioned trend and is the ultimate technology partner to realize such solutions. Q. What does ZOOMLUX offer that you can’t find elsewhere?

A. Our strategy «Light Reimagined» has become a game changer in the Middle East: three years ago, ZOOMLUX has started this journey from being a producer of lighting devices to the company to go to for innovative, holistic lighting solutions. We are constantly looking for new solutions about how to produce, use and control light. ZOOMLUX staff are inquisitively striving for the better solution to answer the challenges of today and beyond.

 
Q. What are common specialisations or challenges in lighting/lighting control in your region?

A. In the Middle East, Light has a different meaning to the people, as we have a lot of natural sunlight. (Sun)Light can be a threat as well as a source of life and prosperity. On the other hand, people like and embrace the creative side of light and are keen to explore, design and build innovative solutions. We recognize a strong trend towards energy efficiency, supported by smart, pervasive controls – the Middle East is getting connected and IoT is becoming much more than a buzzword.

 
Q. What type of projects does the team at ZOOMLUX love working with?

A. We love projects, where the client leads us with a vision, thoughts and requirements while leaving us the space to design and build the solution. We have an increasing number of clients, who see the benefit of this approach. In the recent history, ZOOMLUX has delivered a number of such projects – one example is the Dubai Harbour Project, where we have eliminated light pollution with a highly innovative solution design.

 
Q. Are there any industry niches you have found to work well with zencontrol?

A. We are working with zencontrol in mosque projects: zencontrol has been approved by regulating authorities as lighting control platform for mosques. We have concluded several mosque projects during the last 18 months and look forward to executing more in the closer future.

Another sector is healthcare and education, where clients see major benefits of using the highly innovative zencontrol technology.
