zencontrol shines at DALI Awards 2024/25

We’re excited to share that the Coogee Surf Life Saving Club project was the winner in the category of Best Emergency Lighting Integration at the DALI Awards 2024/25, powered by a zencontrol DALI lighting control system.

Located on the shores of Sydney, this outstanding project was expertly planned and installed by Crown Electrical and integrated by lighting specialists Luminatech. All DALI components and the advanced zencontrol DALI system were supplied by our distributor Lumen Resources, ensuring precision, flexibility, and performance.

Innovate lighting for a flexible space

The club spans two levels and includes the multifunctional Ocean Room – an adaptable venue hosting everything from conferences to social events. Featuring movable walls, this space required a lighting system that could adapt to changing layouts. zencontrol’s DALI system effortlessly adjusts ambience to match each event’s specific needs, creating an optimal environment every time. 

Centralised lighting control behind the bar further empowers staff to easily manage adjustments, improving both guest experience and operational efficiency.

Comprehensive emergency lighting integration 

Safety was paramount in this installation, with zencontrol managing 29 emergency and exit fittings. Utilising DALI-2, automatic testing and compliance maintenance ensure robust performance, reducing maintenance burdens and ensuring peace of mind for the club. 

Key technologies implemented: 

• Colour control for human-centric lighting  
• DALI luminaire, energy, and diagnostics data support (Parts 251, 252, 253)
• D4i and Zhaga-D4i compliant luminaires and components
• Seamless integration with the Building Management System (BMS)

DALI was selected for its inherent adaptability, advanced control capabilities, and ease of use—allowing dynamic adjustment based on room functionalities. Additionally, zencontrol provides simpler cabling and installation processes, greatly benefiting both initial set-up and future adaptability.
