zencontrol highly commended at DALI Awards 2024/25

We’re excited to share that the Willowdale Residential Aged Care project in Denham Court, Sydney, received a highly commended recognition at the DALI Awards 2024/25, in the category Best Integration into Other Building Systems, powered by a zencontrol DALI solution.

Delivered for Bolton Clarke by builder Lipman Builders, this impressive project features sophisticated lighting integration by electrical contractors and systems integrators JR Electrical. Our DALI solution was supplied by distributor Lumen Resources. 

Tailored lighting supporting residents’ wellness 

Completed in 2023, Willowdale integrates 2,619 DALI components – including over 1,300 luminaires, advanced application controllers, motion sensors, switches, and intuitive touchscreens – managed through our zencontrol DALI lighting system.

Human-Centric Lighting improving quality of life 

A cornerstone of the Willowdale design is its human-centric lighting (HCL), carefully programmed to align with residents’ circadian rhythms. By simulating natural daylight patterns, this system supports better sleep, improved moods, and overall health for residents.

Accessibility meets integration

To maximise ease-of-use for elderly residents, the system uses our large rotary control knobs, suitable for residents with limited dexterity. Further enhancing comfort and safety, the zencontrol DALI system integrates with bedside Nurse Call controls, allowing residents easy and immediate lighting management right from their bed. 

Sustainable, flexible, and future-proof 

DALI’s precise individual control and occupancy-based automation significantly reduce unnecessary energy use, promoting sustainability. Being an open-protocol system, DALI ensures the facility’s lighting technology can adapt easily to future developments without costly overhauls.
