The smart sensor supports constant light output (CLO), a technique that adjusts the light output from connected LED drivers to save power over the lifetime of the installation.
CLO takes advantage of the overprovisioning of lighting to compensate for lumen loss in light fittings. It starts by reducing the original light output of the LED drivers and gradually increases it over time as the LEDs naturally decrease in brightness. This approach ensures a consistent light output while optimising power consumption.
By controlling CLO directly from the sensor and utilizing the zencontrol express app, deployment and configuration on-site become more efficient and convenient.
CLO is available in two modes:
- Normal mode: In this mode, the lighting output is reduced when CLO is enabled. Over time, the output gradually increases at a rate determined by the set lumen depreciation and the lifetime of the LEDs.
- Task tune mode: This mode maintains the initially set lighting level for a specific task and adjusts it over time as the LEDs degrade, ensuring a steady and appropriate illumination level.
CLO allow the setting of the depreciation rate (i.e. L70,L80,L90 etc) and the design lifetime in hours (30khrs, 50khrs etc) allowing for flexibility and optimization in lighting control.
